Production Planner - Emerging retailer of the year 2007

Due to the ongoing success and exciting future plans Hotel Chocolat is seeking a Production Planner to be based at our Huntingdon Factory in Cambridge. Hotel Chocolat is the UK’s emerging leader in Premium Chocolate, with our own cocoa plant based in St Lucia and over 40 stores and concessions across the UK & Worldwide we are committed to provide authentic real chocolate to our customers.

Huntingdon Cambridge, commutable from; Peterborough, Cambridge, Newmarket, Wellingborough, Northampton, Bedford, Milton Keynes, Kettering, Stevenage, Corby.

The role of the Production Planner is to deliver a daily and weekly production packing scheduling with the aim of maintaining 100% core range product availability across numerous channels.

  • Daily and weekly review of production schedule adherence
  • Long range capacity and labour budget planning, and liaison with key stakeholders to control operational cost of plan.
  • Product marginal cost analysis based on line running rates, labour usage, and standard product cost.
  • Maximisation of production efficiencies and economies of scale through manipulation of crew sizes, product characteristics, and production equipment.
  • Building close working relationships with internal departments to ensure product launches are met.
  • Works order shortage reporting, and co-operation with the Distribution Centre to schedule works order picking.
  • Responsibility for optimising product shelf life to maximise sales.

The ideal candidate we are seeking will need to have previous planning experience ideally within a FMCG background, a passion for delivering customer service excellence and the commitment and energy to always seek continuous process system improvement. You also must have the following abilities to fulfill the role including:

  • Good judgment with confident decision making skills
  • Ability to work under own initiative
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast changing environment
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload
  • Excel Skills – Intermediate to Advanced, essential
